Another chance for experience? Or.....curse.

"All of you in this room are selected to be the liaison officer,". The lady said.

'Oh snap. Not again.' - this was what I muttered silently in my heart.

LO. Stands for liaison officer.

The reason why I had such feedback as soon as I heard the word LO, is because I had an A3 size paper in my hand that listed 55 foreign countries (means, delegates that will attend the LIMA 2013 next month).

Foreign countries!

"Each of you will be given a delegate from any country. But....if you're unlucky enough you'll get two or three,".

I'm sooo not ready for this.

Being an LO means, be their personal assistant for the whole 5 or 6 days (as long as they are there). Keep track of their schedule, follow them everywhere, obey fulfill their orders requests, be ready for scolding, smacking, praising, or whatsoever.

I NEVER asked for the role as an LO. I just want to be someone behind the scene. In the operation team. Or banquet. know, the roles that do not need you to fake your smile though you're at your full energy to curse.

But I guess they made this decision due to my past experience as an LO during WIEF 2012 last December.

Well actually, being a Liaison Officer during a big event is really something. It opens the networking path for you if you're brave enough to mingle around with different levels of people, it will boost your confidence level, improve communication skills, gains wide knowledge of many things. I was an LO for the Chairman of UiTM. What a splendid experience I had with him. I learned a lot :  he taught me several key skills in life, I got  free rides on the new BMW 3 Series and 5 Series around the city of JB, had a chance to feel what it's like to have the escorts during a massive traffic jam and the cars on the road make ways for you (I feel sooooo important. Haha.... :p), meet great people from all around the world, had formal dinner with all the delegates and royals (yes it was a formal dinner with heavy metal spoons and forks but the dinner was in dim light so who cares :p) ; and many other good things you might think of.

But for LIMA, I don't know why I don't want to be an LO. Though I know this will be as great as WIEF, or better (how I wish!).

It's just that I don't have the passion anymore. None of my friends will be there. I'm alone. The rest are students from local institutes. What would I do if I feel so tense that I need someone to share with?

God. Please be with me.

(If you can find grammar errors in this post, please let me know. Thanks.)
